She’s One Giant Stem Cell

Today my 7-month old, Katie, was “practicing standing” while playing with her activity table. I was holding her lightly around the hips when all of a sudden she released her hands from the table and dove for another toy nearby.  The next 2 seconds occurred in slow motion. During the first, I grabbed the back of Katie’s shirt… during the second, a pin pricked my heart at the anticipation of the impending impact. I lifted Katie frantically from the floor. Her lip had “kissed” the base of her Jumperoo, and it kissed HARD.  After encouraging her to suck on several frozen baby food cubes to reduce the swelling, she still had a big, fat bloody lip. Amazingly, two days later, I could hardly tell that she had even injured her lip. Wow. That baby is one giant stem cell…
